Schedule & Home Time:
- 50-60 hour work week target
- Work is awarded by a seniority bid board
Other Job Details:
- Typical trip range: 100-300 miles (One-way), out and back the same day or night
- Average weekly miles: 1,200-1,600
- Pallet deliveries and use of a two-wheeler may be required
- Most unloading involves rolling pre-loaded carts into delivery locations and loading empty carts and dunnage back onto the trailer
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid Class "A" commercial driver's license
- At least 100,000 verifiable accident-free miles or more than 2,500 accident-free hours
- Willingness to work on weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to sit for extended periods, up to five hours daily, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work up to 14 hours a day and drive a tractor-trailer for extended periods, up to 11 hours per day, with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a tractor/trailer and transport products to and from specified destinations by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Load and unload trailers manually or using palletized loading/unloading or a two-wheeler
- Transport products to grocery stores, Frito-Lay manufacturing facilities, rural storage units, and other traffic centers
- Obtain signatures for receipts, pick up returns, complete logs and other paperwork related to deliveries, and review invoices and/or manifests
- Use an electronic logging device such as a tablet or onboard computer
- Maintain regular contact with customers, sales drivers, and dispatch
- Perform pre- and post-trip truck inspections
- Work hours may include overnight trips as well as weekend and/or holiday work
- Routes operate 24/7; DOT hours vary slightly by location
